About the Author

Robert Taylor was a teacher for many years. He taught in First, Junior and Middle schools so has a wide variety of experience working with children.

For the last ten years he has worked as a Performance Poet mostly in schools, performing his poems to children, aged from nursery to Year 6. (He has also worked with KS3 on many occasions).

He has visited over 400 schools & performed to over one hundred thousand children.

Robert offers :

1 hour poetry performance for KS1/2/3 (shorter performances for nursery & reception children on request).

Robert's performances are interactive with lots opportunity for children to join in the action, through the use of mime, dressing up, props, flash cards and lots of whole audience participation.

Poetry workshops for years 2 to 6. (Also for Year 7 and 8 on request).

"The Angel takes flight"  is a fantasy story, aimed at Junior school children.

 In the story the Angel of the North, a huge angel sculpture, flies off from his hillside in Gateshead, one dark, stormy night,

and sets out to be a  real angel and do what real angels do...rescue those in trouble. "
