Miles uses storytelling, puppets, poems, music and humour to provide vibrant and engaging workshops and performances.

He has worked in schools and libraries in North and East Yorkshire, and worked for Creative Partnerships since 2005. He is a qualified teacher and his journalism has appeared in national and regional newspapers, including The Sunday Times, The Independent, Daily Telegraph, Northern Echo and Yorkshire Post.  His poems have appeared in magazines including Dreamcatcher and Aesthetica and he won the 2008 Slipstream Poetry Competition.

Miles can provide a performance to all or part of the school, as well as workshops with classes up to 35 children.  The emphasis is on engaging children in the activities and encouraging them to enjoy and be inspired by the written and spoken word. He says : ‘I want the children to say, ‘Wow ! I did that !’’
