Rob Parkinson is a very experienced presenter and trainer and has run many training days and shorter sessions, for teachers and other education professionals as well as for therapists and counsellors, healthcare workers, play leaders and even for leading executives in multi-national organisations such as DHL. He combines practical expertise in presenting stories as both teller and writer with detailed knowledge of practical psychology, innovative thinking and imaginative ideas that really engage pupils and teachers.

Twilight (short) sessions can include one or more of these themes:

• Storytelling: the skill of telling stories and how to develop it
• Using storytelling games for effective learning – drawing on some of the 98 games in Rob’s Natural Storytellers series to make a highly effective approach to story both in telling and writing
• Traditional stories, storytelling and story writing:  how to draw inspiration from tradition
• Making new stories from old plots (from fables to fairy tales and fantasies)
• Storytelling and music: music with stories and stories from music
• Using stories with difficult children and children’s difficulties
• Stories as guided imagery: understanding how and why stories engage the imaginative mind and the practical implications of this.
• Guided Imagination: why imagination needs to guided and how to guide it

Full day training sessions can include any of the themes from the Twilight sessions above and also can be tailor made to suit requirements of the organisation following discussion.
