About the Author
Author/illustrator of children’s picture books and novels: Slobcat, Solo, The Hunter, Dinosaur in Danger, Tortuga, The Hoppameleon, Rotten & Rascal, The Great Green Forest, Look out Patrick! The Cross-with-us Rhinoceros, Over the Steamy Swamp, Pig, The Wonderful Journey, The Giraffe who got in a Knot and more.*
Two inspirational 60-minute presentations (three, if pupil numbers exceed 300) in a day, to audiences of 100 - 150 at a time (ages 4 – 12 & adults) on the subject of picture books, encouraging children to read, write, draw and think creatively. Parents are also welcome.
I will also leave behind two or three signed, coloured felt-tip sketches done on the day. (Usually schools keep and frame these, but they fetch around £150/£200 each if auctioned.)
Every presentation is different but will include elements of the following;
On the day I would need a flip chart, 4 large sheets of cartridge paper (size A1 or A2), laptop, projector and screen, and a set of standard short, Berol Watercolour markers would also be very helpful (I have my own, but they do go blunt quickly, and new, sharp ones are better for fine details.).
I will bring along a stock of my books, and stay after school to do a signing session.
(Most cost £6).

"It was a delight to share a stage at last with the Great Geraghty. The cartoons were a stroke of genius on your part. Thanks for all your help in organising this and am looking forward to the next one."
Nicholas Allan (Author/illustrator) - Guildford Lit Fest
" The children are still automatically ‘switching on’ when they hear your name mentioned, borrowing your books from our libraries and searching for those frogs. You really did provide them with a day of inspiration"

"Thank you for visiting us today, the presentations were lively and engaging... you must be exhausted! Staff and children have commented how much they enjoyed them. We have decided to have your drawings framed; they will be a permanent reminder of a wonderful day."

"Many thanks for visiting our school - great feedback from one and all - the best is always things like, 'X has spent all afternoon writing and illustrating a story. Normally X doesn't like writing but this afternoon I couldn't stop him!'"
Cathy Whalley - Upper Beeding Primary School, West Sussex
"Just wanted to say how thrilled my son was to have met you at school last week. He hasn't stopped talking about your books and says 'book' in that enchanting way that you did to the kids! Your drawings and stories so appeal to his inquisitive nature and attention to detail are just what he likes. I found your oratory skills wonderful, you took me on a real journey. You give everything you do so much and it shows through your books and meeting you."
Ali - Sandhurst
"Dear Paul Geraghty.......we are lucky to have a few of your works of art...."Look out! Patrick" has been a favourite with jessie(7) and jack(5) over the last few years and even more so now that they have a baby brother called 'Patrick'......(named after your book of course!)"
Landy Slattery - Tooting, London
"I am a great admirer of your work and am amazed at the tremendous attention to detail in your books. I do hope your next book will be out shortly."
Dear Mr. Geraghty, We really liked your story, "Stop That Noise". The pictures were very beautiful, and we liked the animal sounds. We hope all the bulldozers stop tearing down all the trees."
