Michael has illustrated many children 's books over the last few years, his first picture book was The Selfish Crocodile which has become a best seller and The Wide-Mouthed Frog came third at the Bishops Stotford Children 's Book Award 2010. Crunch Munch Dinosaur Lunch has been short listed for the Red House Children 's Book Awards 2010.

Michael studied graphic design and illustration at art school before moving to London as a graphic designer. In1972 he went freelance as an illustrator producing work for advertising, editorial and publishing and quickly gained a reputation in these fields and won awards for his illustration.

Also he has worked for clients in the USAsuch as Readers Digest Children 's Books,

Golden Books [Random House] and Schoolastic.

Michael has given talks about his work in schools and bookshops in his area.

He now lives and works by the coast in Kent.

School Visits

A school visit consists of three one hour sessions in which the process of illustrating a picture book is explained showing rough drawings and artworks together with the children participating in a workshop to produce their own illustrations for a story written previously by the class.

Demonstration drawings by Michael are left with the school.
