Dave McCleery is an international Artist who not only tours schools around the UK but also Australian and New Zealand Primary and Secondary schools. Dave works as a creative Illustrator/Cartoonist and motivator. He has published cartoon strips in international news papers and has painted many murals all around the world.

For his shows, Dave takes inanimate objects (anything you can see around you) and creates quick fire characters and stories from them all. It could be a pencil, a glue stick, a bottle, a paper clip, a piece of chalk, practically anything can be animated, as Dave will skilfully and hilariously demonstrate.

And its all down to just one simple word...

'L.O.G.I.C'... Look, Observe, Gather,   Imagine, Create,

It's great fun and anyone can do it, you'll be amazed at what can be achieved, just have a go and see for yourselves!

After a 15-20 minute warm up, Dave will create a safe environment for all by removing any fear of failure and also those worrying “I can't do it” doubts.

Dave works with children from KS1 - KS4

Dave offers up to three different 60 minute presentations for primary schools and 90 minutes for secondary schools with audiences of 50+ (preferably each group being of a similar age). 

Dave is happy to stay on for any questions, a friendly chat, and to view the work achieved at the end of the day.

An allowance of 15 minutes between each session is required.

All of Dave's artwork is signed and left free of charge with each school.

 

Dave requires the school to provide all children attending the shows with blank A4 white paper, black pens, soft pastels or coloured pencils and something to lean on.

Publications

Most of Dave's work consists of separate commissions. He has travelled extensively and his artwork is spread all over the world as individual pieces in many different medias and publications. 

Dave has also had many individual pieces used for promotional work such as fliers, posters, tourist bureaus, postcards, greetings cards etc....

He's also illustrated many portraits and painted many business and domestic murals from rock legends to Trompe l'oeil.
