‘On 29th August 2009 Tim Lerwill of Lerwill publishing performed his first event with myself, John Lloyd, Children’s Event Organiser for Bath Waterstone’s. The events ran from 12pm until 4pm with readings and signings on the hour every hour. Tim’s new book ‘The Snow Sheep’ proved to be a big hit with all that came to the performance. Music and slides helped to add a little something to the usual Saturday story time and Tim presented the reading wonderfully. ‘Farmer Tim’ activity sheets were available in between readings so that there was little room for boredom on this fantastic Saturday event, I would certainly recommend booking Tim Lerwill for any book events around the country and I am personally looking forward to having him back in Bath in the later half of this year’.
Kathryn Preston, Community Librarian, Wiltshire wrote:
‘On Tuesday 1 December between 5 and 5:30pm, Tim Lerwill, assisted by the Bradford on Avon Library Supervisor, read ‘The Snow Sheep’, gave out Farmer Tim colouring sheets and signed copies of his book in the library.
The families who came to our Christmas Late Night Opening had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed listening to ‘The Snow Sheep’ and colouring the activity sheets.
As the Bradford on Avon Community Librarian, I look forward to working with Tim Lerwill again in the New Year’.

‘On 17th March 2010, Tim Lerwill of t/a Tim Lerwill Publishing visited two infant schools in Southampton with myself, Nicky Gale, Children’s Event Organiser for West Quay, Southampton.
Tim has currently written two picture books, ‘The Snow Sheep’ and ‘The Vegetable Patch’. The books feature ‘Farmer Tim’, a young boy who helps his parents on the farm, and reflect the author’s experiences growing up on his parent’s farm in Devon.
This was Tim’s first school event. He spoke to four groups of 30-45 four and five year olds who were currently learning about the farm at school.
Tim’s sessions were approximately 40 minutes long and were presented in a way which was relevant to his young audience and to the curriculum. The sessions included a reading of each of his books, which were interactive and enhanced by visual aids, a song which the children thoroughly enjoyed, and a question and answer session.
Tim’s events tie in very well to the farm topic studied by Reception age children and I would recommend him to any infant school looking to add an extra learning opportunity to this theme’.
Sharon Dixon, Senior Children’s Library Assistant, Devon Libraries wrote;
‘Barnstaple Children’s Library has the pleasure of hosting a visit by Tim Lerwill in December 2009.
Tim came along to our regular story-time session, to which we had also invited a local nursery. Due to the publicity in the local newspaper we had an audience of approximately 60 toddlers and their parents!
Tim started the hour session introducing the characters from his books, and playing a recording of the theme tune to the ‘Farmer Tim’ stories, he then read both of his current books ‘The Snow Sheep’ and ‘The Vegetable Patch’ to a very receptive audience of adults and children.
At the end of the session Tim signed and sold a quantity of books while the children had a lovely time colouring pictures of the ‘Farmer Tim’ characters.
Feedback from children and parents was very positive and we are all looking forward to hearing the next instalment from the ‘Farmer Tim’ series’.
