About the Author
Mark Seaton is a professional
Mountain Guide who lives and
works in the French Alps. He
has worked as a Guide since
1992 and operates at the
cutting edge of his profession.
Recently, Mark guided a climb
on one of the most difficult
ascents in the world, the
notorious North Face of the
Eiger. This is something no
other British Mountain Guide
has done alone. He was the
first Guide to successfully
reach the summit of Europes
highest mountain, Mont Blanc,
with a blind client.
Mark Seaton is an internationally
qualified Mountain Guide and
a member of both the British
and French Mountain Guides'
associations.
Mark lives in France in the town
of Chamonix with his wife Jane,
a passionate sportswoman, and
his three dynamic daughters,
who are just as keen on climbing
and skiing as their Dad.
Due to the nature of Mark's work Mark is only available for UK school visits in October and November.

School Visits
The talk lasts about 15 minutes followed by 15 minutes of questions from the
pupils. It also includes a visual element, in that I show images of a
real scene from a mountain followed by a picture from the book- so on and so forth.
I will also bring climbing equipment so that the pupils can even participate in
a demonstration of a bleeper search used for avalanche rescue.
Whilst the book is aimed at 3-6 year olds, the talk can appeal up to 10 year
olds, as it is about the creative writing process. I have found that it
is best to have the ages grouped. I would welcome the opportunity to give
the talk to pupils across all ages at your school.
