Kenneth Steven- Scottish author - poet, children's writer and novelist
Kenneth is a widely published children's author, poet and novelist with some 20 titles behind him. The most famous work of this picture book author is The Sea Mice and the Stars, which has been published in 12 countries and came runner-up in the Royal Mail Awards. Steven's first collection of children's poetry, Imagining things, was published a couple of years ago by Lion Hudson. A first novel by Kenneth, for 8-12 year olds appeared last summer from Argyll in Scotland; this was BRAW's Book of the Month in the autumn. This and most of his other writing is inspired by nature and the outdoors.

Kenneth will run one-off events or stay for a few days as a writer in residence. The latter will involve Kenneth having an intensive five day residence. In this time group work will be carried out with children at all stages. Kenneth will also give a reading during the course of the week and give talks to literary societies or library groups. A programme will be designed to suit each individual school.
