Stewart
Ross
History is my big
thing. I've written dozens of story books and information books
based on real people, past and present.
Stewart Ross is a trained
and qualified teacher with years of teaching experience at all
levels, primary to university. He gave up teaching to become a
full time writer 20 years ago, and is now one of Britain's most
popular and versatile authors with over 230 published titles to
his credit. As well as prize-winning books for children, both
fiction and non-fiction, including graphic novels, he has written
two novels, several plays, three librettos, a musical and widely
acclaimed historical works for adults. Stewart currently gives
talks and workshops in some 50 schools a year. He also offers
lively INSET sessions.

The Workshops
- Each exciting and interactive workshop is tailored to suit
the school’s requirements.
- Teachers are invited to arrange what they want and for which
age group(s) at the time of booking: some schools opt for shorter
sessions with several year groups, others more intensive work
with 1 or 2 groups or classes. Many schools ask for an assembly.
- Several schools have done a 'book in a day project' which
leaves the school and the pupils with a permanent record of
their achievement - details on application.
- All ages catered for.
- Whole country covered.
- Subjects range from SATs-orientated fiction and nonfiction,
to literary creativity, Shakespeare and history.
- Most schools like Stewart to do a book sale/signing during
the visit.
